National Seminar on Sustainable Development and Zero Waste Practices

The event facilitated discussions on sustainable development, responsible consumption, and plastic waste management. Expert talks, interactive sessions, and institutional dialogue promoted actionable approaches toward zero-waste practices.

International Workshop: "Human-Environment Interactions in the Indian Himalaya amid the Climate Crisis"

ARPA + PGDAV + IME Jammu + IGNCA J&K + EarthCo-hosted

The ARPA Opportunity Foundation, in collaboration with PGDAV College, University of Delhi; the Institute of Mountain Environment, Bhaderwah Campus, University of Jammu; the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA), Regional Centre J&K; and Earth, successfully organised a two-day international workshop on 5-6 March 2026 to deepen cross-sector understanding of climate-linked human-environment dynamics in the Indian Himalaya.

Key Outcomes
  • Emphasized co-creation of knowledge and the complementary role of scientific research and local ecological knowledge in understanding environmental transformations
  • Learned directly from local communities and grounded lived experience
  • Highlighted emerging Himalayan environmental shifts, including changing weather patterns, shifting snowfall cycles, declining water availability, and rising climatic unpredictability affecting agriculture, livestock, and livelihood security
